Are Christian Preppers Faithful or Faithless? That’s the question before us today.
Many preachers, teachers, and believers will tell you “To be a Christian Prepper means you don’t have faith in God to provide all your food, shelter, clothing, and money.”
But is this belief Biblical or just a distortion of scripture? Be PREPARED to find out!
The widely held notion among many Christians that “prepping is unfaithful” comes from Matthew 6:25
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Seems pretty clear right? So why don’t we see those same people who would label a Christian Prepper as “Faithless” quitting their jobs, throwing out all their food and clothing at the end of each day, only to wake up every morning with money in the bank, clothes in the closet, and food in refrigerator? Talk about faithless.
So what is the answer? It’s a simple mistranslation of the word “thought” used in that verse. Jesus NEVER SAID “take no thought.“ More on that in the video below.
Furthermore, the Bible is filled with warnings and commands to prepare ourselves. In fact, the word “prepare” appears over 150 times!
Paul warns us about what to expect in the days we are living in.
2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (read the whole chapter for all the details)
Paul goes on to tell say in 1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. [unbeliever]
Now here’s the real kicker:
John 14:3 – And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.
Jesus himself is a prepper!
I’m going to let my pastor take you through what the Bible tells us Christians about being prepared when the you-know-what hits the fan. And it will folks, it’s coming to us here in the USA, and I’m not talking about the occasional freezing weather, although I guarantee the preppers throughout Texas were feeling pretty good about their decision to be prepared in the winter of 2021.
No, I’m talking about those perilous times brought on by Satan’s hail Mary last push to kill and destroy the one country that brought the Good News of the Gospel to the entire world. All Hell is breaking loose.
That’s what Jesus told us would happen just before His arrival.
Be prepared.
But, let’s not be anxious.
Let’s not forget God has promised to protect and provide for us.
He is the source of our prepper provisions.
And let’s remember what the Psalmist wrote:
Psalm 46:1-3
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

I think the most important thing is to be spiritually prepared. I could fill my store cupboard with food, but if I have to flee theres not a lot of it I would be able to take with me, and would be entirely dependent on God for my protection and provision of my needs.
